St Andrews & North East Fife Ramblers

Welcome to St Andrews & NE Fife Ramblers Group

The St Andrews & NE Fife Group was formed in 1990.  Currently (2022) we have over 100 members, mostly from across North East Fife.  As our name implies, our main activity is to organize walks.  Each walk is led by a member of the group, who, together with a fellow member, will have made a recent recce of the walk to make sure that it is both viable and safe.  Our longer walks take place at weekends, shorter ones midweek.

Walking is a great way to maintain a degree of fitness, whilst enjoying the Scottish countryside.  Our walk area includes not only NE Fife, but anywhere within a reasonably short driving distance. with members having the option to go straight to the walk start point or, in many cases, travel together from the Fluthers Car Park in Cupar.  Further information about past and planned walks, including the availability of car sharing from Cupar, can be obtained by exploring our website.  We welcome guests, whether from other Ramblers' groups or from non-members simply wishing to 'try out' walking with us.  To join any walk contact the Walk Leader.

In addition to our regular programme we aim to organize a walking holiday and a Christmas lunch, to which both members and their friends are invited.

Our group is a member of both the Forth Valley, Fife and Tayside area and the national Ramblers' Association. To become a member of the Ramblers you will need to go to the national website, where you can specify our group as the one you wish to belong to.  Membership entitles you to join any Ramblers' walk anywhere in the UK and the Forth Valley, Fife & Tayside area produces an area programme, which can be particularly useful if looking for other walks nearby.  You can use the Links menu above to find both the area and national websites.

Also note our Walks Leaflets for the St Andrews and Cupar Areas. These may be downloaded and/or printed for use (see menu) or hard copies can be obtained from St Andrews Tourist Office or Cupar Library.  Alternatively contact a member of the Group committee, who will arrange for you to receive a copy..
